Benefits of Doing a Health Challenge BEFORE the Holidays

We all know this time of year. The New Year's resolutions are starting to build in our minds, we start losing focus on our goals for our health and fitness and we’re already defeated before we even start the uphill battle of trying to stay on track during the holiday season. But what if this year we changed the narrative to set ourselves up for success before we head into the holiday season?

 

 

When you’re working towards certain goals throughout the year, going into the holiday season can be overwhelming and intimidating. You begin to think about your busy schedule, big meals and the difficulty to prioritize your health and fitness. And that’s when the doubt and guilt begins to set in. But you know what? This year we’re deciding to focus on our health and fitness and challenge ourselves before the holiday season to leave all the bad energy in 2020 (rightfully so). 

Instead, we’re kicking off the holiday season with our Fall Challenge to head into the holiday season feeling strong, happy and confident. Doing a challenge before rather than waiting can do a lot of good and we’re here to tell you why:

 


  • Being proactive is a lot easier than being reactive. Starting out on the right foot and setting your priorities straight is a lot easier than trying to counteract the months of you ignoring your health and fitness. 
  • Repetition builds habits. While a challenge is only for before the holidays it can help you start to build healthy and simple habits that you can bring into the holiday season whether you realize it or not. 
  • Set the results in the mirror. Making small little changes to your daily life can help you see physical results if you stay committed. While this isn’t the most important part of a challenge it is a nice perk. 
  • Feels the results in your body. Even better than what you see in the mirror, you’ll feel GREAT on the inside. You’ll feel good about sticking with your goal and taking care of yourself in one of the most hectic times of the year. 
  • The buddy system almost never falls. What's even worse than self doubt is feeling like you have to get out of it alone. Join the GS Community to make yourself accountable and feel like the motivation to keep on going, even when it feels like an uphill battle some days.
  • It’s easier than you think. Mind over matter 100% of the time. You are strong and capable so let's quiet those little voices in your head and get you started on your goals before you have the chance to fall behind.

    And the best part is, that you don’t need to completely transform your life to start off on the right foot. All we’re challenging you to do is make small little tweaks to your day in order to make yourself feel better about yourself. Our members did this last year and saw some great results.

     

     

    We know what you’re thinking, it’s too good to be true but check out the 5 easy steps below: 

     

  • Drink ½ bodyweight in ounces of water per day 
  • Eat a protein source at each meal or snack 
  • Have a handful of veggies at least 3 times a day 
  • Sleep at least 7 hours a night 
  • Commit to 10 minutes of movement a day
