We know you love fueling your body with healthy and nutritious foods. TBH, chicken, rice, and broccoli are the chefs' kisses when it comes to an easy, solid, healthy meal. But if, by chance, you want to switch up your go-to meals, you've come to the right place!
Drum roll, please! We would like to officially introduce you to Grown Strong’s Chef & Chief of Snacks, Amy Tran!
Amy is the queen of tasty, high-protein, and healthy recipes. Her healthy recipe game is just as strong as her Instagram game @amyvsfood (peep for some aesthetic goodness). And Amy’s awesome self has developed, taste-tested, and gifted us with some AMAZING-looking and -tasting recipes. Counting macros? We have them broken down for your convenience. You can CLICK HERE to view our recipe section to find all the latest and greatest.
To put a face behind the recipes, we asked Amy some questions about her awesome self. Take a peep!
How did you get so good at cooking? We want to hear all the deets on how you started!
I've always loved cooking for my friends and family. Practice and an overall obsession with food are how I got to my skill level today. Really, I guess I've just been lucky to have people around me who never say "no" to trying food. :)
What is your favorite recipe to cook and why?
Anything Vietnamese! Specifically, thit kho; it reminds me of my childhood!
What does Grown Strong mean to you?
To me, it means being a badass and supporting other badasses. Striving for the best version of yourself and encouraging others around you.
What’s an experience that made you who you are today?
When I turned 18, I decided to move to San Diego. I found CrossFit and a newfound love for health and fitness. This changed my entire lifestyle and really helped shape my adult self. Not only that, but it also helped form some of the closest relationships I have to this day with some really cool people who share similar interests and goals.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That's a tough question! My number one choice would have to be pho. Close runner-ups would be burritos and hot dogs (LOL, I don't know why, but it's just the truth).
If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Always take a leap of faith in yourself. You'll never know the limits of what you can achieve unless you try.
Now that you know a little more about the mastermind behind these healthy dishes, you should RUN, don’t walk, to the grocery store and get cooking! When you make these delish dishes, make sure to tag us on IG. And remember, sharing is caring, so send these recipes over to your friends, neighbors, hairstylist, anyone who you think deserves healthy and delicious meals... so basically everybody you know 😉
